The Croft House

The Croft House is a traditional stone built house situated in an idyllic seaside location, in the small crofting village of Valtos (or "Bhaltos" in Gaelic), on the beautiful west coast of the Isle of Lewis. Enjoy breath taking views of the sparkling, blue sea and the spectacular, Hebridean white sand.

The house was built in the 1930s and has been in the same family for nearly 100 years. It offers a spacious and authentic base to relax and enjoy the stunning views across the bay to the outlying islands or across the Atlantic.

The location is perfect for making day trips to all parts of Lewis and Harris. There is easy access to Valtos beach and the quay from where you can enjoy refreshing walks, an invigorating swim in the clear blue waters or a range of water sports.  

It is also a great base from which to explore the wider area, including nearby Cliff, Kneep and Reef beaches and the magnificent Uig sands. You can also access the extensive local footpath network, nearby hills for hiking and of course enjoy the range of fascinating local birds and wildlife on land and sea.
